- Does this cover Scotland and Wales?
- No. Scotland charges Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) and Wales charges Land Transaction Tax (LTT), both with different bands. This tool is for England and Northern Ireland only.
- When does first-time-buyer relief apply?
- When the price is £500,000 or less and every buyer is a first-time buyer. There's no stamp duty up to £300,000, then 5% on the portion from £300,000 to £500,000.
