Does this cover Scotland and Wales?
No. Scotland charges Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) and Wales charges Land Transaction Tax (LTT), both with different bands. This tool is for England and Northern Ireland only.
When does first-time-buyer relief apply?
When the price is £500,000 or less and every buyer is a first-time buyer. There's no stamp duty up to £300,000, then 5% on the portion from £300,000 to £500,000.
